Consultations in TINAVET Marbella
Personalised veterinary care for dogs and cats, with time to listen, examine carefully and explain the next steps clearly.
At TINAVET Marbella, consultations are designed to be calm, thorough and focused on your pet’s individual needs. We take the time to understand what has changed, perform a complete clinical examination and discuss the most appropriate options with you.
Consultations are available in both English and Spanish.
What happens during a consultation?
Your vet will begin by discussing your concerns and taking a relevant medical history.
We will then perform a physical examination tailored to your pet and the reason for the visit. Depending on the case, this may include assessment of the heart and lungs, abdomen, eyes, ears, mouth, skin, joints, temperature, weight and other relevant clinical parameters.
If further investigation is recommended, we will explain why and discuss the available options before proceeding.
When should I book a consultation?
You can book a consultation whenever you are concerned about a change in your pet’s health or behaviour.
Common reasons include:
Vomiting or diarrhoea
Coughing or breathing changes
Skin or ear problems
Lameness or pain
Urinary problems
Changes in appetite or thirst
Weight loss or weight gain
Lethargy or behavioural changes
Eye problems
New lumps or swellings
Routine health checks and preventive care can also be discussed during a consultation.
Follow-up consultations
Some conditions require monitoring after treatment or further assessment over time.
During a follow-up consultation, we can review your pet’s progress, reassess clinical findings, discuss test results and adjust treatment where necessary.
Continuity of care is important to us, and whenever possible we aim for your pet to be reviewed by the vet familiar with their case.
Urgent consultations during opening hours
If your pet develops an urgent problem during our normal opening hours, contact us as soon as possible.
We can assess urgent cases including sudden illness, pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, wounds, breathing problems, collapse and other acute concerns.
If your pet requires emergency or overnight care beyond what can be safely provided at TINAVET Marbella, we will advise you on the most appropriate next step.
Further investigation when needed
If your pet needs additional tests, many investigations can be performed within the clinic.
Depending on the case, this may include:
In-house laboratory testing
Digital X-rays
Ultrasound
Blood pressure measurement
Further diagnostic testing
We will discuss recommended investigations and their purpose with you before proceeding.
